I Told You, You're Mine
By: Heather C. AdamsIt’s you and me against the world from now on Blade.
“And you must be Adam,” Blade extends his hand to the side as Adam nervously reaches out. “Thanks for taking care of my woman last night man. Let me get you some breakfast.”
My eyes widen and I take a large swig of my orange juice trying to hide my face. Poor Adam.
Blade looks over to me and mouths I love you and I melt all over again.
As I sit at this booth with my friends and my love finishing our meal, I feel like a whole person, a loved person, a happy person. I hope mom and dad are proud of us.

“Now let’s go get you taken care of,” Blade opens his arm for me to loop around as we wave off our two new friends as an official couple. It feels good to be out there with someone. No more hiding.
I lace my arm through Blade’s and we walk down the block to an electronics store.
“What are you doing?” I smile.
“My baby is going to have whatever she needs”, he leans down and kisses the top of my head while guiding me in the store and over to the laptops.
Blade raises a finger to an attendant at the far end of the store, who starts our way.
“I have a laptop Blade, I don’t need this.”
“You need a new everything. I saw what you had. It’s not good enough. That thing is how old?” he smiles and I squeeze his muscular arm even harder.
The attendant meets us and Blade gives him a laundry list of items to gather including the new iPhone, Mac, and iPad.
I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this. I never let dad shop like this for me. I stayed frugal, even with all their money on my doorstep. But Blade insisted and I was just going to go with it.
When we arrive back in front of my apartment, Blade stops in front of the door.
“What’s wrong? Why are we just standing here?” I query.
A smile widens as he peers at me with a sneaky look.
“What in the world?” I pull my hands on my hips and he nods to an area behind me.
I turn around and see a red Model S Tesla parked on the side of the road with a gigantic bow wrapped around it. Blade pulls a key fob out of his pocket showcasing it.
“No!” My blood starts racing.
“Yes!” He counters.
I squeal and run to him, jumping and landing with my legs wrapped around his waist. I pepper his cheeks with kisses.
I didn’t need all this…stuff…but I couldn’t deny that I had always wanted a Tesla, and he knew that!
Chapter 4
Blade
Her body wrapped around mine felt like heaven as she kissed my face all over. I guess the Tesla was a hit. She’s been obsessed with that car since we were in high school. Dad wanted to buy her one for her sixteenth birthday but she begged him not to. She said she wanted to earn one herself. It was time though.
“If you keep kissing me like that I’m going to have to pin you against the brick and take you right here on the street,” I chuckle.
“I can’t believe you’ve done all this Blade. This is nuts.”
“I told you I’m going to take care of you.”
I meant it. If she had let me I would have been taking care of her all along, so there was a lot of making up to do. I think I had done a pretty good job getting her started though. It was going to be hard as hell to be away from her until we situated a satellite office in the city, so I needed to know she had whatever she needed, whenever she needed it.
I was going to have to make sure she didn’t play any hard-headed games once I left, suffering and not telling me if she needed something. I’d leave her my black card if need be.
“Wanna take it for a spin?” I hand her the key and my phone dings.
I pull it out of my jean pocket and see a text from Archer asking me if I’m still going to the charity event tomorrow evening. I cock my head to the side and suck the air through my teeth, “Damnit.”
Avery stops on her way to the car, “what is it?”
“Ugh, It’s Archer. I forgot there’s this event tomorrow. It’s going to be the first one I’ve gone to without dad.”
